Michelangelo’s Statue of David

During our time in Florence, we visited the Museum of Accademia to see the iconic Statue of David. Let me say that photos do not do this statue justice. The amount of detail and craftsmanship seen in this statue is jaw-dropping. When we turned the corner, your eyes were instantly drawn to him. I didn't expect this statue to be as giant as it was. He is exactly 17 feet tall. David's hand was as big as my face. It is unbelievable; I have never seen anything quite like it. This piece will never get old, no matter how often you go back to see it.
