Buona Pasqua from Orvieto! 🐰

The night before, I received flowers, chocolates, and a note from my mom for Easter. This was so sweet; celebrating without my family back home felt different. But I’m so grateful to share this special day with many new friends and peers. We started the day with a special breakfast treat made by Chef Maria. We then attended mass at the Duomo. It was a beautiful service, and the church was packed. So many people attended mass, and many of them had to stand. After the service, we all came together as a cohort for a 5-course meal together. This was a great time to pause and take time to celebrate the rising of Christ together. After lunch, I stopped at the market along the courso and got some handmade Italian gifts for friends and family back home. When I returned to the convent, I found out that one of my cohort friends had hidden chocolate eggs for us to find. It was such a special gesture and made my heart full to continue a tradition my mom usually continues back home. Being able to experience the Easter traditions here has been a blessing.
