Duomo Cathedral

One of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Once I walked in, I was speechless and in awe of the beauty surrounding me. I could feel the actual presence of God's glory and love. I could spend hours in this church just admiring every little detail. A friendly police officer approached us and gave us some church history. In my first picture, below is my zodiac sign. The zodiac signs spread throughout the church in connection with the sun's orbit. He explained that whatever date your zodiac sign falls on, on that exact date the sun will shine exactly on that tile. He said he has been a part of the security team for over 20 years and has experienced this happening multiple times. I found this very intriguing. We also visited the bottom part of the Duomo, where Filippo Brunelleschi's tomb lies. I also learned that this church holds an actual nail and sliver of the cross from when Jesus was crucified. How special and amazing is that ?! We decided to light a candle in honor of my grandpa who recently passed a little over a year ago now. It was a very special moment and I really felt like he was their in spirit with me and I felt at ease knowing he was in the hands of such an amazing creator. He was home.
